During the planning process for the Downtown Boulder Mall, the Union Pacific Railway Depot at Fourteenth and Walnut was threatened by demolition. It was saved by a joint effort of HB and the Boulder Jaycees. After 32 years it is again being moved to make way for redevelopment. The next site, a transit center at 30th and Pearl, is expected to be a permanent one.
